Job Description

Job Title: Teaching AssistantSalary: £10 to £12 per hourLocation: SunderlandStart Date: ImmediatelyHere at GSL Education Newcastle, we are working alongside a setting in Sunderlandand are recruiting for a number of exceptional people to join the school asTeaching AssistantandSupporting Staffs.You will work as part of a strong and supportive team, helping pupils achieve the most out of each school day. The job role needs commitment Monday to Friday with working hours of 8.30-3.30pm. We anticipateimmediatestarts, and the role shouldlast for at least a term.Duties include:

  • You will provide support and guidance to a designated Secondary aged pupils with an EHCP (Education Health Care Plan) in place.
  • You will liaise with the Class Teacher and other support staff to ensure you are working in-line with the education health care plan (EHCP) to achieve the best emotional, social, and academic outcomes for the pupil in your care
  • Helping pupils thrive through activity and well-being based sessions
  • Being a great role model on conduct and behaviour
We need you to have:
  • A passion for helping young people
  • School or care based experience with any age group
  • Good level of maths and English ability
  • Great rapport building skills
  • A kind, calm and patient personality
  • Proactivity and enthusiasm
  • Anenhanced DBS on the Update Serviceor the ability to complete an application
  • Be able to provide a full work history and professional references
