Job Description

Outline and Responsibilities:

  • Manage a supply chain team to train, develop & deliver core efficiency improvements to optimize supply chain inventory and manage parts ordering from Direct Parts Suppliers
  • Pro-active logistics management covering inbound, outbound and warehousing, incorporating ADR/IATA responsibility
  • Inventory management to ensure accurate system and physical stocks including regular cycle counts, putting in place robust corrective actions to minimize material losses.
  • Ensure efficient production planning scheduling for UK plant achieving KPIs
  • Assess risks in supply chain and implement effective countermeasures
  • Manage departmental budgets within agreed business plan limits, delivering objectives outlined by Purchasing Manager.
  • Performance monitoring and Monthly reporting. Two-way feedback and escalation.
  • Take over existing procedures and practices to implement new procedures demonstrating supply chain improvements. Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions.
  • Improvement of systems, procedures and training development of the team.
  • Background and Experience Required:
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject.
  • At least 5 years of supply chain experience.
  • Experience of working within the automotive supply chain would be beneficial.
  • You should have experience leading teams, be able to work to tight deadlines, have a good sense of priority and to have previous planning and logistics experience.
  • Experience of SAP would be beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills are crucial to this role, as is the ability to build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
