Headquartered in Japan, and with manufacturing facilities in the UK, US and Japan, we are currentlylooking for dynamic, forward thinking individuals with innovative ideas to join them in their Sunderland plant to help deliver our current and future generation L-Ion Batteries into the rapidly expanding EV market place.Their lithium-ion batteries can be found in more than 430,000 electric vehicles worldwide and have a superior safety record of zero-critical issues. We will continue to build upon these successes and expand into new markets and industries, producing innovativeand competitive products and technologies that advance the goal of a zero-carbon emission future.Envision AESC have joined forces with Nissan and Sunderland City Council as part of the "NissanEV36Zero project thatll see not only a new, fully electric car pumped out of the Wearside factory, but a whole new battery gigafactory and solar farms to helpit run cleanly.To support these ambitious investment plans to build gigafactories in the UK and France, Envision AESC are looking for an experienced and innovative Supply Chain Manager to assist in this growth.The Role:The SCM Manager will initially focus on the development of the team and create the strategies and processes that will support the launch of the new Giga plant in Sunderland, before moving onto the day to day management of the team within an operational environment.You will take specific responsibility for driving the development of Production Control and in-Plant functions within SCM, closely supporting the Purchasing and Quality teams in the onboarding of new suppliers. This position will report into the SCM SeniorManager.Some of the key responsibilities will include: To lead the development of the SCM team to ensure that Envision are ready to meet the demands of the new Giga Plant. Lead the design of in-plant Material Handling processes from design to implementation, including warehouse and last mile operations. Contribute to cross functional and cross regional discussions to optimise operational and business efficiency. Continuous improvement of processes systems, capability & cost. Functional leadership and team management, communicating cross functionally. Delivery of new plant readiness for SCM and In-Plant logistics including warehouse and last mile Develop & communicate strategies within the SCM team and wider business Reporting of key performance measures.The Person:This is an exciting role within a high profile business here in the North East, as such we are looking for high-calibre individuals who can display the following skills and attributes: Extensive experience of supply change management in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Minimum 8 years, in a high volume, fast paced manufacturing environment Hands on experience of ERP systems. Preferably experience of SAP operation modules. Experience of global supply chain operations. Strong business acumen: understanding the existing and future business needs in a global environment. Ability to work and interact with all levels within a multicultural organisation. Educated to degree level, preferably in Supply Chain Management or Business Management. (preferred but not essential) Demonstrate strong management skills and experience of managing a team. Clear written and verbal communication skills at all levels including the ability and confidence to present to the management team. Demonstrate capacity for strategic thinking and decision making. Ability to work within and lead a project team. Strong ethical conduct and ensure compliance requirements are adhered to in all aspect of the role.
