Job Description

Supply Chain Assistant6 Month Fixed Term ContractSunderland£25-30k DOEJackson Hogg Supply Chain division are supporting a long-established business in Sunderland on the appointment of a Supply Chain Assistant to join their supply chain team on a 6 month contract basis.This is a post to start ASAP so you will need to be available either immediately or within 2 weeks.This role is based on site 5 days per week with working hours of Monday to Thursday 08:30-17:00 and Fridays 08:30-15:00 (38 hour week). There is access to free parking and benefits include: bonus scheme and 24 days holiday plus bank holidays.Supply Chain Assistant - The Role:

  • Assisting with the raising and issuing of purchase orders from purchase requests
  • Assisting with the raising and issuing of standard purchase orders
  • Chasing suppliers for delivery confirmations and updating internal systems accordingly
  • Checking confirmations against the purchase orders and uploading into internal systems
  • Assisting with date changes for works orders
  • Purchase of goods, materials and services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets.
  • Establish close working relationships with internal departments
  • Manage and monitor overdue orders and shortage reports
  • Stringent material control is required to assure company targets are met. This includes spend, usage, scrap, inventory levels, stock accuracy
  • Ensure that all established and required administrative routines are correctly followed, with all records maintained accurate and up to date.
  • Ensuring daily production figures are accurately recorded in our in-house system
  • Supporting the production planner in ensuring efficient plans are in place to meet customer demand
  • Support stock rotation and processing adjustments for stock through in-house system
Person Specification:
  • Some previous procurement/supply chain experience is preferred
  • Available for a contract role to start at short notice
