Job Description

A Head Storesperson / Stores Team Leader is sought by a busy Sunderland based Manufacturing company.The Head Storesperson will be responsible for organising and managing the stores to optimise efficiency , the distribution of goods in and out and the accurate control of all related documentation and recording relevant information, on stock levels and allocatedstock to the relevant systems. You will also allocate and book Stock to build (works orders), pick stock to align with production schedule and monitor & inspect stock coming in and out of the Stores , checking PO/invoice and certification .Other duties will include: -

  • Check stock levels in the stores and advise the respective departments on availability of goods
  • Take and oversee deliveries according to correct formal procedures
  • Receive and record the deliveries of all goods and if necessary be responsible for dealing with carriers over discrepancies between orders and goods delivered, reporting anomalies to the Procurement Team.
  • Maintaining material levels in accordance with project status
  • Ensure that all stores are maintained in a clean and orderly condition including a rotation of goods, movement of stock
  • Provide Senior Management with accurate stock reports
  • Maintain on a continuous improvement basis, efficient stores and prioritise cost-down by taking an active role in limiting material and all other waste
The ideal candidate would ideally possess the following qualities and experience
  • Valid Reach and counterbalance fork lift licences (refreshed within 3 years)
  • Computer Literate with knowledge of all Microsoft Packages
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Be well organised and articulate, paying a high attention to detail, having the ability to deal accurately with a lot of information.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal with a variety of people, both internal and external.
  • Proven leadership experience from both an organisation and people perspective
  • Experience in developing systems and procedures to improve efficiency and throughput
