Badenoch & Clark are partnering with a local housing association to assist them in recruiting a 12 month FTC for a Stock Condition Surveyor for their Asset Management department based in the North East. Job purposeThe post holder will be responsible for preparing schemes of planned investment works and/or one-off technical and specialist projects, producing all relevant details and documents to ensure external contractors or internal delivery teams can be successful in the delivery of those schemes. This role will also be responsible for undertaking and managing a range of building pathology inspections, other specialist surveys and providing solutions to rectify any issues.Core duties & accountabilities*Taking account of the long term maintenance needs of the Organisations assets, develop works programmes (in conjunction with the other departments in the business), to address the risk and long term maintenance needs of the stock including commissioning and managing building pathology inspections and other specialist surveys. *To ensure all appropriate pre-contract requirements, specifications, technical drawings are developed in sufficient detail and prepare all tender documentation working alongside the procurement team.*To undertake and manage a range of building pathology inspections and other specialist surveys and provide solutions to rectify any issues.*Work in collaboration with the Asset Management and wider Property teams to deliver a customer focused service.*Provide specialist technical surveying advice across the Asset Department as would be expected of a Building Surveyor.*Ensure our Asset Management system is updated to ensure all Balcony surveys and remedial actions are recorded, raised, validated, and completed satisfactorily *To act as Project Lead on a range of projects*Prepare designs, specifications, drawings, and contract documents associated with a range of projects, including major housing refurbishment contractsCandidate requirements*A recognised professional qualification in a property related discipline - Building Surveying BSc (hons) or similar, or considerable demonstrable experience in a Building Surveying role.*Experience and technical competence to undertake a range of building pathology inspections and other specialist surveys and ability to provide solutions to rectify any issues. *Experience of leading on preparing design, specification, and contract documents for large projects.*Experience of managing smaller specialist or one-off projects from inception through to completion. *Experience in the development and implementation of large-scale housing investment and compliance programmes including pre-construction H&S information, fire risk assessments and asbestos management *Experience of managing relationships with customers, internal and external stakeholders *Experienced in the evaluation of contract delivery and monitoring unit costs including variation controlsPackage & benefits*£37,000 *Generous annual leave of entitlement of 29 days, plus 8 public holidays *36 hours per week - flexible working options / 12:30pm finish on a Friday*Qualification & certification assistance *Defined Contribution pension scheme, with a maximum employer contribution of 10% *Life Assurance - up to 3x times basic salary*Health Cash Plan (costs covered by Gentoo) covering a wide range of treatments from routine appointments to specialist surgery*Online employee discount platform offering cashback and savings with leading UK retailers*Employee Assistance Programme offering 24/7 confidential support and access to counselling *Car mileage allowance (where applicable)*Cycle to Work scheme *Enhanced Family Friendly leave entitlementBadenoch + Clark acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
