Job Description

Software Development ManagerOur client is a successful, £multi-million service provider to governments, financial institutions, healthcare providers, utilities and more. Its people use leading-edge technology to effectively manage large-scale and complex customer communications with great efficiency and effectiveness. Central to this is utilisation and development of innovative, best-in-class and robust software for internal business systems and customer facing projects. We’re looking for a client and technology-focussed Software Development Manager to lead a small team of Software Developers and Testers delivering these solutions.As Software Development Manager your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing team activity in an agile environment
  • Managing change
  • Developing technical solutions to support client and business requirements
  • Ensuring that Quality, Compliance and best practices are maintained and followed within the department
  • Contributing to solution design & architecture
  • Assisting with work estimates and planning
  • Delivering to agreed project timelines
  • Providing 2nd line support for existing systems, assisting colleagues
    • As Software Development Manager you will need:
  • Solid, successful recent experience gained in a Software Development Manager or lead development role
  • Self-motivated, flexible and able to maintain high levels of control
  • Experience in agile development. Experience in data handling and/or communications may also be beneficial.
  • Technical skills in:
  • .Net Framework 3.5, 4 +
  • ASP.NET & C# (Webforms / MVC / Forms applications)
  • Entity Framework
  • JavaScript / jQuery
  • HTML & CSS
  • SQL
