Job Description

The Recruitment Co. are seeking a full time Soft FM Supervisor.This role is based at Sunderland Royal Hospital, also covering all CHoiCE sites as required.Hours per week:40 - normal working hours are on a rota basis across a seven day period,including weekends, late shift, night shift, unsocial hours and public holidays. Shifts will be predominantly working throughout the day, up until 7pm.Key Requirements:-Have experience of working in an NHS Organisation as well as support services- An understanding of the HTM-07-01 Safe Management of Healthcare Waste- Be computer literate, with a good understanding of Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook- Have the ability to work on own initiative and be able to manage a large staff group- Have a courteous and professional attitude- Commitment to personal/professional development- Ability to prioritise workloads- Ability to work under pressure- Ability to work 24/7 shift patterns as requiredThis post provides an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and proactive person to join an already established team, to support the delivery of high-quality Facilities service. You will be responsible for:- Day-to-day management of the waste operative duties and the performance of the staff within CHoiCE.- To supervise and prioritise work and direct staff accordingly, ensuring the service is responsive to the demands placed upon it- Management of all hospital waste streams, ensuring correct segregation and preparation of waste, prior to disposal off-site- Communicating with service users in person as well as by telephone, and resolving any service difficulties or extra work provision- Carry out first line return to work meetings as per the CHoiCE attendance management policy- Authorising annual leave- Compiling waste teams rotaBenefits:Access to WorkA scheme administered by JobCentre Plus that exists to help disabled people fulfil their potential at work. In addition, health surveillance puts into place certain procedures where employees may be exposed to certainrisks.Mental Health ServiceCHoICE offers all staff access to an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP). This is a 24 hour confidential counselling and information service, where support is available on matters such as marital problems, stress, anxiety and financial worries.In addition, specialist bereavement counselling is available via Cruse. Face to face and group support is delivered by trained bereavement volunteers to support people after the death of someone close.Furthermore, Occupational Health offer an advisory service with toolkits to assist with managing stress and pressure.Moving & Handling ServiceThe Moving and Handling Service provides training, advice and support to all CHoICE employees regarding all manual handling and back care issues. Manual Handling Training isdelivered via e-learning or via classroom presentations and appropriate practical trainingis provided separately.
