Job Description

Our client is looking for a Terminal/Operations Leader to join them at their new site in Sunderland on a permanent basis.Job RoleThe role will be responsible and accountable for all practical operations in our Sunderland terminal and will work closely with our head office and production facilities in Norfolk with a One Team’ approach to ensure that, together, raw-material purchasing, stocks, production capacity, despatch and end-delivery matches customer requirements in the most optimal way

  • Have excellent attention to detail and a high level of personal integrity and the ability to supervise and participate in all practical aspects of production and distribution in a regulated environment
  • Planning and preparation for receiving materials onto site and anticipating storage availability to accommodate planned material
  • Be able to utilise spreadsheet-based systems for the planning of finished goods production and batch manufacturing processes
  • Be accountable for maintaining an accurate stock records, ensuring physical stock levels are recorded on computerised systems at all times
  • Maintain accurate and timely records for all stock & product movements on and off the site
  • Responsible for ensuring there is adequate staff resource organised dependant on demand, especially during high season periods and for times of ship discharge
  • Ensure all company plant, equipment and vehicles are maintained in conjunction with a maintenance schedule etc.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring that company health and safety policies are implemented and adhered to
  • Skills/Experience
  • Candidate must be numerate and literate
  • Have excellent attention to detail and ability to utilise tracking systems
  • Experience of Excel and MRP systems (Specific MRP systems only desirable)
  • The ability to supervise and participate in all practical aspects of production and distribution in a regulated environment
  • Be detail orientated and be able to optimise the production to match customers’ requirements and prepare finished goods ready for despatch by lorry from site
  • Be strong character with strong people and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to liaise with customers and clients as well as reporting to directors and the board
  • Experience of managing processes and people in a production/logistics environment
  • Experience of resource and staff scheduling depending on demand requirements
  • Driving Licence essential
  • Forklift certification would be advantageous
