Job Description

Residential Support worker£11 per hourSunderlandTemporary shiftsAre you looking for a new role or additional work that will give you a variety of shifts and a sense of achievementAn exciting opportunity has arrived; we are currently looking for experienced children support workers who have a learning disabilities background in working with children and young people for a minimum of 6 months to 1 year. We work with an amazing organisationbased in the Sunderland area who are looking for immediate starters to assist with holidays, current vacancies, and short/long term absences.You will be providing and promote person-centred care and support to vulnerable children and young people including people who have a range of mental health needs, learning and physical disabilities, behaviour that might challenge and require differing levelsof support; to meet a range of complex social and health needs.You will need to work effectively as part of a team, undertaking tasks as detailed within a person`s care plan, providing care and assistance to enable people to achieve their maximum level of independence through appropriate physical, emotional and psychologicalsupport.What well need from you:

  • Ability to work alone or within a team.
  • Ability to monitor and ensure the safety and security of the residents.
  • An understanding of challenging behaviour is preferred.
  • Must have an approachable, proactive, and friendly attitude towards work.
  • 6 months - 1 years experience working with Children or Young People.
  • A DBS registered on the Update Service would be a great advantage.
