Job Description

Quality & Product Safety TechnicianPermanent Position£25,000 - £27,000 per annumFully office basedMonday - FridayCurrently seeking a Quality and Product Safety Technician for this successful manufacturing company based in Sunderland. The role involves supporting the QHSE Manager and assisting with the maintenance of the Quality and Hygiene Management System.Some of the main responsibilities include:

  • Manage the internal audits and company self-inspection programs
  • Keep all records up to date including calibration records and ensure to arrange any service repairs for equipment on site
  • To work closely with the QHSE Manager to ensure policy procedures are followed and updated accordingly, maintaining the highest quality and standards
  • Quality assurance, archiving samples, process and conduct laboratory tests which would include heat-seal/lamination bond strengths, oxygen transmissions, solvent retention. Primary aromatic amines and coefficient of friction
  • Communicate brief training programs and successfully convey the relevant information and awareness required
  • Support the maintaining of the company’s HACCP plan
  • Handle and complete required customer questionnaires and help prepare and technical specifications
  • Assist in the development and implantation of a confident and efficient CAPA Program
  • Successfully communicate with various certification boards which includes; arranging on site audits and respond to non-conformances, ensuring maximum compliance certification standards and accreditation systems
Skills and qualifications required:
  • GCSE grades 3/C or above in Math’s and English
  • A confident and positive approach to problem solving
  • Fantastic verbal and written communication skills
  • Great organisational skills with great attention to detail when managing your time
  • Confident Microsoft Office knowledge
  • Be able to conduct yourself in a professional manner
