Job Description

y client is a leading communications business which operates globally.The company is currently managing an exciting North East project and as a result it is looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager with a telecoms/technology background. The role is initially for a period of 6 months but has real potential to extendsignificantly beyond this.The role will involve:

  • Working with stakeholders to ensure that there is an agreed business case and cost model for the project that covers the key business drivers and benefits, the capital spend to deliver and then the ongoing operational spend. Ensure business case is alignedwith the contractual documentation that has been agreed with client.
  • Confirmation/documentation of the delivery approach, scope, key deliverables, and dependencies for the project.
  • The creation and approval of a detailed end to end project plan that covers all deliverables as well as transition into company operations.
  • Working with all key stakeholders to ensure all risks have been identified (at the earliest point), documented and the relevant mitigations agreed.
  • Identification and management of all project stakeholders ensuring there is a clear and concise communications plan that is being effectively delivered.
  • Delivery/acceptance of all project deliverables to agreed acceptance criteria.
  • Manage scope change and project dependency.
  • Management of 3rd party suppliers through a commercial procurement process and then through the project lifecycle.
  • At all times, seek out opportunities to improve ways of working and promote a collaborative one team approach.
  • Manage all delivery costs to the agreed cost model/budget showing all variances.
The person:
  • Proven Project Management experience within the technology sector
  • Previous experience with risk management
  • Analytical and detail oriented, problem-solving skills with experience of analysing and interpreting technical procedures. Analysing and interpreting large scale customer engagements.
  • Excellent at building and maintaining an excellent working relationship with technology and commercial teams - lead by example with collaboration at the heart
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (incl msproject), Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat (PDF).
  • Formal Project Management Qualification, (PRINCE2/APMP) or equivalent
