Summary Join our team to open up and develop wide-ranging opportunities for children and young people (0–25-year-olds). This varied and flexible role will involve planning, delivering and evaluating experiences for young people that are ambitious and completelynew. By delivering ParkPlay, developing our schools offer and working with community groups you could increase access to our places, inspire tomorrow’s leaders of change and make a great contribution to nature and conservation.Interviews: Friday 2nd FebruaryContract: PermanentSalary: FTE £22,152pa Actual £17,721paHours: 30 hours per week which includes every other Saturday to deliver our ParkPlay then we are flexible as to when you work the other hours. What its like to work here Souter Lighthouse, an icon of the North-East was the first lighthouse in the world designed to use electricity. Acquired by the National Trust in 1989, the machinery is in full working order, although no longer in use as a lighthouse. Surprisingly extensiveinside, the complex now houses activity rooms, a shop, café and 2 holiday cottages. Visitors can learn about life as lighthouse keeper and climb the 76 steps to the top of the tower.Click here for more information about this locationYou’ll join the Volunteering and Community team and report to the Senior Programming and Partnerships Officer. What youll be doing - Delivery of engagement activities for children and young people both at property and in local communities- Administrative tasks related to the planning, evaluating, and communicating of these activities- Build and maintain good relationships with community partners- Responsible for developing school engagement including through self-guided visits and working with our school partners- Manage teams of volunteers. Who were looking for Wed love to hear from you if you’re:

  • experienced in running events and activities, and/or working with community partners
  • familiar with audiences in the areas of heritage, culture, arts and the natural environment
  • used to running small partner-led projects within the heritage and arts sectors
  • able to measure and assess results, and show their impact
  • good at talking and listening to, and getting on with, all kinds of people
  • someone who puts people first, and understands what’s needed for everyone to receive great customer service
  • flexible and happy to work with different teams and partners, and to go wherever you’re needed to balance the workload of your team
