Job Description

Night Support Worker (Young People)SunderlandFull Time - 36 hours per weekFixed term contract until December 2022£20,147About the roleHolmewood House is our 24-hour temporary supported accommodation service for vulnerable young people aged 16-21. Our client currently has an exciting opportunity for a Night and Weekend Support Worker to join this service. This is a key role in which you’ll be responsible for promoting the physical safety and wellbeing of the young people living at Holmewood House.Within this role your main responsibilities will include:

  • Promoting and facilitating activities within the service, encouraging and supporting residents to become involved and participate
  • Ensure the safety of residents by controlling access to the building and assisting them in gaining specialist support in the event of an emergency
  • Developing and implementing excellent standards of housekeeping
  • Assisting in the review of processes and procedures to ensure the continuous improvement of the service

  • Has experience of working with young and / or vulnerable people and can demonstrate a good understanding of the needs and current issues surrounding these groups
  • Has excellent interpersonal skills and can quickly build rapport with service users and external stakeholders
  • Can work independently whilst using their own initiative
  • Can work well under pressure and shows resilience when dealing with challenging situations
  • This role will require you to remain vigilant throughout night shifts, including your breaks. Shifts will be allocated on a rota basis and will include weekends and bank holidays as required. Required skills
