A well-established medium sized manufacturing company based in Washington is looking for an Electrical Bias Multi-Skilled Engineer to join its team. This role requires someone who is able to work 12 hour shifts alternating days and nights 6.30am – 18.30pm & 18.30pm -6.30am, operating two 36 hour and two 48 hour weeks in every 28 days. The company have a growing product base which is supplied to various retailers throughout the UK and are the largest independent company in its field. As the Electrical Bias Multi-Skilled Engineer your duties will include:- Carrying out planned and proactive maintenance activities.- Carrying out diagnostic fault finding under the pressure of production.- Identifying performance issues and implementing appropriate and pragmatic solutions through the use of problem solving skills, tools and techniques.- Providing a service that meets food packaging standards, whilst maintaining standards of housekeeping and personal hygiene.The successful Electrical Bias Multi-Skilled Engineer will have the following skills and experience:- Educated to HNC standard (or equivalent) or higher in Electrical Engineering is essential.- Time-served with electrical bias to NVQ level 3 or equivalent.- 18th Edition certification for electrical work or equivalent.- The majority of day-to-day activities are mechanical so experience in this is essential.- Post apprenticeship, preferably in a high speed, high volume manufacturing environment (plastic packaging environment an advantage).- Proven experience in PLC Control systems, and PLC fault finding experience in servo drivers and RS Networks (including Ethernet, DeviceNet communications).- Familiarity with the use of PC equipment is essential.- Proven experience of working with the AB PowerFlex range of AC Inverters.This is a great opportunity for a Multi Skilled Engineer to join a company which manufacture plastic packaging mainly for the food industry and have extrusion, thermoforming, injection molding, print, labeling and card wrap machines. In return, the Multi-Skilled Engineer will receive a salary of £18.00 per hour (consolidated rate which includes compensation for 24/7 shift pattern) – approximately £39,312. The first week or two will be on dayshift and will be paid at £14.50 rate until the start of 24/7 pattern. The company offers 33 days holiday inclusive of Bank Holidays pro-rata to 23 days inclusive. You will be auto enrolled on the Royal London Pension (currently 5% employee & 3% employer).
