Job Description

Lead Mechanical Design Engineer (Sheet Metal)£65,000 - £75,000 + Company Bonus + Excellent Progression + Training + 25 Days Holiday + BonusSunderlandAre you a Mechanical Design Engineer, ready to enhance your career with an inclusive, dynamic and people-oriented organisation, where your skills and expertise will be utilised to ensure you are at the forefront of the development of technical storage vessels,in a highly senior role, where you will work closely with the directors of company, continuously adding valueYou will lead by example, using your varied technical and practical knowledge of mechanical engineering, to directly manage the design team, during a period of rapid growth for the company, which has recently had a multimillion pound investment.On offer is a fantastic opportunity to join a market leading manufacturer, at a pivotal time, where growth has to lead to a tripling turnover, where you will have excellent progression opportunities, with the potential to open your own siteYou will be in an integral role, with the opportunity to train within a variety of different disciplines, continually taking on more responsibilities as a Senior leader, and eventually progress to take on a more lucrative role. You will be responsible for overseeing the Design team to develop the companys range of specialist Cryogenic storage vessels.The Role:

  • Lead the engineering team, drive continuous improvement throughout the design process
  • Oversee engineers and draftsmen, managing their performance, and developing their skills
  • Support directors and managers to deliver the requirements of the Design Department
  • Liaise with numerous departments, including Sales, Purchasing, Quality, Finance and Production to optimize delivery of projects and products
The Person:
  • Mechanical Design engineer, with Fabrication Processes / Sheet Metal experience
  • Management or Supervisory experience
  • FEA experience
