Job Description

  • Ensure that corporate, social and environmentally responsible issues are considered in all procurement activities undertaken.
  • Update all relevant systems and documentation on a weekly basis to ensure all trackers are up to date.
  • Responsible for controlling and administering procurement agreements, catalogues and supply chain portal.
  • Ensure compliance with all related legislation.
    • Client DetailsThe Client is a large not for profit housing association in the North East, looking to expand their team going into 2021 & It is a very exciting time to join.DescriptionPrincipal Accountabilities* Support the Procurement Lead with procurement for Gentoo Homes, Development and Asset within Gentoo Group (may also include some Repairs and Maintenance activity) OR Support the Procurement Lead with procurement for Gentoo Group across all business areas (excluding any work on Construction).* Work collaboratively with the Supplier and Governance team to ensure a "One Procurement Team" approach.* Deputise for the Procurement Analyst as required.* Provide proactive, responsive procurement advice and support to business partners.* Prepare for and attend partnership meetings, ensuring our business partners feel supported and understand the roles each party to the procurement process has to play.* Provide proactive, responsive procurement services on tenders over £25K including the advertising of such tenders where it is appropriate to do so.* Provide support to the Procurement Lead and Procurement Partner for tenders over £100K.* Undertake mini competitions for both capital and revenue purchases over £25K, complying with relevant framework agreements.* Support in the procuring of goods and services in line with the Groups Financial Regulations, including the approval of orders on Ebis.* Comply with the procurement strategy, all policies, procedures and service level agreements relating to Procurement.* Participate in annual spend analysis to determine priorities, and support in the creation of strategic sourcing strategies identified by that analysis.* Contribute to the monthly report as requested by the Procurement Lead.Profile
  • You must be able to demonstrate your interest in construction and/or procurement.
  • Some understanding of environmental issues relating to construction.
  • Flexible approach to work to meet business needs and deadlines.
  • Able to work additional hours as required to suit the demands of the role.
  • Able to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
  • Be able to meet the travel requirements of the post.
