Job Description

HSE Recruitment are proud to again be partnering with a leading education institution in Sunderland to find them a HSE and Fire Safety Advisor to join their team. This role would suit someone with a positive attitude, someone who will get stuck in, bea team player, show enthusiasm and hit the ground running.They offer a flexible working pattern of approx. 3 days on site and 2 days from home. Youll work as part of a larger HSE team and be supported and encouraged to improve. There are a whole host of projects on going and its a varied site with everything suchas labs, lecture halls, accommodation, tv studio etc. so youll have the chance to get involved in lots of different things.The HSE Advisors role is to support the Head of Health Safety and Environment (HS&E) by providing competent advice and guidance to Faculties, Services, and others as appropriate in aspects of HS&E, particularly in relation to fire safety matters. You will implementthe HSE plan, do audits and inspections, assist in monitoring and reporting of KPIs, risk assessments and overall, provide support and guidance on campus. You will also support the estates and fire strategy team in doing in fire risk assessments.What we are looking for:

  • A strong generalist HSE Advisor, coordinator or officer with a good understanding or experience with fire safety and doing fire risk assessments.
  • NEBOSH Certificate as a minimum but Diploma level qualification would be desirable.
  • A NEBOSH Fire Certificate or a fire risk assessment qualification would be desirable.
  • A background in education would be advantageous but other industries will be considered. Backgrounds that could transfer well include FM, property, retail and leisure.
