Job Description

Post Title: HR AssistantLocation:SunderlandSalary: £22,000 -25,000Pertemps are looking to appoint a HR Assistant for a large automotive client in Sunderlandto provide a full range of administrative support to the HR function in all areas of the business. The company work Monday to Thursday 8.30am - 5pm and Friday 8.30am- 2pm. There is free parking on site and excellent company benefits.Job description:

  • Be the first point of contact in the department for all queries, providing guidance and support to the business at all levels in the correct and accurate interpretation and execution of HR policies, processes and procedures
  • Compile information and data for weekly and monthly reports
  • Daily absence management, completing Absence call records updating the Supervisors and relevant systems
  • Organize and maintain employee records
  • Update internal systems (e.g. record sick, maternity, paternity)
  • Administration of starters and leavers
  • Support payroll by providing relevant information on starters, leavers, sickness etc.
  • Carry out new starter inductions
  • Occupational Health Management, arrange relevant appointments and any adhoc projects flu vaccines etc.
  • Support and attend disciplinary / grievance meetings taking accurate minutes of the meeting
  • Right to work checks
  • Manage the day-to-day administration of a variety of human resources policies processes and procedures
  • Co-ordinate plant employee relations and communications policies and procedures
  • Support on various HR initiatives and projects
  • Participate in the research and development of HR policies and procedures with other members of the department
  • Provide support with recruitment activity, including new hire inductions
Essential requirements
  • Minimum 2 years experience working in a similar generalist HR function
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills - Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Experience of supporting strategic change, of working on confidential and sensitive projects and of policy development
  • Be flexible in mind and approach to facilitate working across a wide spectrum of subjects
  • Be able to cope with a challenging, heavy schedule with rapidly changing priorities
Desirable
  • Qualified to CIPD Level 3
  • Experience of working within the automotive sector
