Job Description

The CompanyEnterprise scale business is looking to recruit a Head of Application Management.The RoleReporting to the Director of IT Services, you will provide leadership to teams that are responsible for delivery of a comprehensive application support function, supporting BAU and projects as required, with a team of analysts, experienced in, but not limitedto, ERP and bespoke Business applications. As a champion of providing great customer experience you willmanage application enhancements to improve business performance, advising on application security, Managing a team of 2nd and 3rd line analysts, ensuringthat all performance management and team objectives are clear and adhered to, you will:

  • Ensure all daily tasks are completed as required by the analysts and that all SLAs are adhered to.
  • Identify areas for Continual Improvement in the Support Team
  • Ensure the transition from the project to the service is smooth, eliminating issues and problems.
  • Have financial responsibility to ensure your team adheres to your budget
  • Manage application enhancements to improve business performance and provide governance and strategic planning.
  • Provide input for the design, code, test of moderately complex programs and scripts from agreed specifications and subsequent iterations, using agreed standards and tools.
  • Collaborate in reviews of specifications, with others as appropriate.
  • Assist when resolving high priority/high severity customer and project issues.
  • Anticipate, identify, and assess complex issues/problems.
  • Introduce a test rigour and methodology for each application service.
  • Insure your team is appropriately resourced at all times to support BAU and project demands, and you will ensure you complete forecast planning to ensure maximum efficiency for Group.
You will also be part of a 24 x 7 x 365 on call rota for the Leadership teamThe RequirementsYou will be self-motivated, directed and have demonstrable leadership experience, from workingin a leadership capacity in Service Delivery, Product Management or Service Management, within an IT Service based company. Having managed and led support teams ofbusiness critical applications. within an enterprise scale business, you willpossess proven ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a reactive high-pressure environment.Operating within anITIL environment, you will have:
  • Experience in delivering Applications support & budget control.
  • Proven knowledge of all aspects of IT teams and disciplines, such as software, infrastructure, cloud and mobile
  • Good negotiation, influencing and problem resolution skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience of effectively creating and leading high performing teams
  • Experience of leading organisational change
  • Demonstrable experience of building excellent working relationships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to produce reports and deliver client meetings
  • Ability to understand key client concerns, issues and agendas
