Job Description

Headquartered in Japan, and with manufacturing facilities in the UK, US and Japan, we are currentlylooking for dynamic, forward thinking individuals with innovative ideas to join them in their Sunderland plant to help deliver our current and future generation L-Ion Batteries into the rapidly expanding EV market place.Their lithium-ion batteries can be found in more than 430,000 electric vehicles worldwide and have a superior safety record of zero-critical issues. We will continue to build upon these successes and expand into new markets and industries, producing innovativeand competitive products and technologies that advance the goal of a zero-carbon emission future.Envision AESC have joined forces with Nissan and Sunderland City Council as part of the "NissanEV36Zero project thatll see not only a new, fully electric car pumped out of the Wearside factory, but a whole new battery gigafactory and solar farms to helpit run cleanly.To support these ambitious investment plans to build gigafactories in the UK and France, Envision AESC are looking for an experienced and innovative Global Supply Chain Manager to assist in this growth.The Role:The Global Supply Chain Manager will lead all aspects of Logistics Planning and Strategy for Envision plants UK, France and Spain business. This role will report directly to the GM of Supply Chain and be based in Sunderland.Some of the key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop Global Supply Chain for the Europe and US plants from raw materials to finished products.
  • Lead a solutions team in the design of new plant logistics, warehouse layout and flow and packaging that meet the individual OEM and 3rd parts customer requirements and ramp up plans for new business.
  • Interface with Global Envision leadership teams to develop proposals and gain consensus on all logistics planning activity.
  • Collaborate cross functionally with the various stakeholders for each plant (i.e., Purchasing, Manufacturing, Facilities Engineering and Finance) to ensure optimized solutions for transportation and warehouse operations
  • Coordination of logistics planning schedules to ensure alignment of all milestones for Supply Chain
  • Development of business case for Foreign Trade Zone and work with FTZ consultant to activate sites where applicable
  • Establishment of optimal inventory levels for domestic and overseas materials at each plant
  • Identifying, recommending, and implementing new processes for driving efficiency within the logistics operations
  • Development global database for packaging, transportation, and warehouse solutions
The Person:We are keen to speak with experienced Supply chain professionals with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience in high volume, fast paced manufacturing industry. The successful candidate will display the following skills and attributes:
  • Knowledge of transportation network design and inventory control processes and procedures.
  • Understanding of statistical analysis, parts forecasting methodologies, and associated system software
  • Ability to prepare statistical analysis and business case recommendations for Logistics solutions derived from the data harvested
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships as well as influence key stakeholders within the business
  • Able to travel Europe wide to visit the sites in France and Spain
