Job Description

We will continue to build upon these successes and expand into new markets and industries, producing innovativeand competitive products and technologies that advance the goal of a zero-carbon emission future.We are delighted to be recruiting exclusively for this newly created Environment and Permitting Engineer.The Opportunity:In the newly created role of Environment and Permitting Engineer you will be a integral member of a core SHEQ team at AESC UK. You will be supporting all aspects of Environmental regulation with particular focus towards Permitting requirements to ensure consistentlysafe running within the required environmental constraints of an upper tier COMAH establishment.

  • Help deliver various regulatory requirements including developing and refining ISO14001systems and processes
  • Managerelevant Permit applications in terms of Environmental Safety
  • Conductperiodic compliance audits and other appropriate monitoring both internally and externally
  • Supportand leadthe implementation of EHS UK policy for Environment Management
  • Ensure all environment accidents and incidents are reported and appropriately investigated and all necessary improvement actions recorded and tracked to completion
About you:In the newly created role of Environment and Permitting Engineer you will have an experienced background within Health and Safety, and/or Environment and you will have relevant experience dealing directly with the Environment Agency with particular focus aroundsuccessfully writing and submitting Environmental Permits, which is a key area of importance to our client. In order to deliver successful projects into the client business youwill have well developed communication skills, able to provide expertise/adviceon permit/environmental requirements throughout the business but also to give confidence to regulators. As an ISO14001 Certified site you will also have experience in conductingregular internal audits, working with enforcement agencies during and outsideof formal audits, as well as working closely with internal teams. AESC UK is a truly green business so the adherence to environmental legislation and going well beyond it is at the core of what our client does so you will ensure compliance with environmentallegislation and keep up to date with British, European Legislation. You will be able to demonstrate experience of formal risk assessment techniques and a clear understanding of the practical application of Environmental Management System standards.Whether you are an Environmental Safety Specialist or a Health & Safety Professional with experience of Environmental legislation, this is an excellent opportunity for you to play a key role and add value to one of the North Easts most exciting and fast expandingbusinesses.
