Job Description

A Panel Wirer/ Electrical Fitter is needed by an Engineering company in the Sunderland areaYou will be responsible for building control panels will have the following duties

  • Read and interpret electrical drawings and identify components
  • Work as part of a team on overall and final machine assembly and installation
  • Carry out testing and commissioning of final machine build
  • Assembly of electrical panels - wiring of motors, sensors and controls
  • Attachment of electronic components / circuit boards
  • Inspection and modification of current machines
  • Use of a range of measuring tools and hand tools
  • Complete all technical documentation as required
  • Work within machinery building delivery schedule
  • Ability to travel throughout the UK to support onsite build, testing and commissioning (infrequent)
  • To provide guidance and support to apprentices
We are looking for the following skills and personal qualities from the successful Electrial Fitter: -
  • Time served in an electrical discipline / engineering apprenticeship or similar
  • Previous experience working in a similar electrical role, ideally building and commissioning special purpose machinery.
  • Understand and interpret electrical drawings
  • Experience of installation and commissioning of electrical systems
  • Knowledge and experience of working in an ISO 9001 environment
  • Strong understanding of safe working practices
  • PLC experience and/or electronic repair is desirable
