Dementia Therapist - 38.5 hours per week on a rolling rota, so you will always know what you are working and then, offering a fantastic work life balance !Shifts are a mixture of days and nights - You will work two weeks of days (three days one week and four the other week),and then two weeks of nights (three nights one week and four nights the other weekAshlea Lodge, an Orchard Care Home located in Millfield, Sunderland is seeking a Dementia Therapist to join the newly built specialist dementia nursing division, Reconnect.Reconnect is a specialist dementia care plan, opening in selected Orchard Care Homes across the UK. Ashlea Lodge has been chosen as one of the first Reconnect facilities with 18 beds. The home has received significant investment in dementia-specific features and requires specialist therapists with experience and dedication to delivering care to those living with dementia.As a Dementia Therapist in this setting, you will have responsibility for the delivery of exceptional care to a designated group of residents, and act as a Key Worker. The Dementia Therapist will ensure that at all times residents are treated with respect and dignity, and that all interventions are delivered with empathy, and focus on strengths of the resident.You will need to be understanding and patient towards residents and their needs, and encourage, assist and support residents to participate in appropriate leisure activities.The key challenge will be to uphold Orchard Care Homes values of trust, respect and care.
