Job Description

Data Protection Officer (GDPR Data Privacy) Sunderland / WFH to £47kDo you have a strong understanding of Data Protection / Data Privacy in the digital ageYou could be progressing your career at a successful and growing online gaming / gambling site as they expand their European presence.As a Data Protection Officer youll collaborate closely with the Data Protection Manager to help build on the existing systems for both customer and staff data protection and processes and help to drive the culture within the business.Youll have a range of responsibilities including the provision of data protection training, awareness and communication via workshops, advice and guidelines; youll collaborate across teams to ensure compliance with data protection regulations such as GDPRand other relevant standards.You will also assist with the development and delivery of associated programmes, roadmaps and supporting projects; youll be encouraged to contribute ideas and take ownership.There are a broad range of responsibilities and challenges, youll be collaborating in advisory role where youll build expertise.WFH Policy:Theres a hybrid work from home policy with 2-3 days a week; when youre in the office youll be collaborating with accomplished colleagues in awesome custom built offices in Sunderland with a range of facilities and perks including three, free meals a daysat the onsite restaurant as well as membership at onsite gym.About you:

  • You have experience of working in Data Protection, conducting Data Privacy Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and Data Subject Rights Requests (DSARs)
  • You have a strong understanding of data protection regulations, laws and requirements - within a highly regulated industry, gaming / gambling would be a bonus but not essential
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to create documentation and confident to provide training presentations
  • Youre able to multi-task and prioritise
  • Ideally you will have achieved one of the following certifications (the company will also help train you and put you through these qualifications if you dont already have them): CIPP/E, CIPM and / or CIPT
