Coupled with the competitive salary, the University of Sunderland offer 31 days annual leave as standard (plus 8 Bank Holidays and 5 days closure at Christmas) alongside being eligible to opt into the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS).As a Cyber Security Officer within the team at the University of Sunderland, you will be responsible for:*Providing specialist advice and guidance to staff and students on cyber security.*Identifying and managing assessments of threats to the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the IT estate.*Formulating, developing, and implementing IT security plans, taking into account current best practises, legislation and regulations to support the cyber security strategy to ensure an effective level of cyber hygiene is met.*Providing technical management of the IT security operation and ensuring agreed service levels are met.*Assisting with the implementation and ongoing management of cyber security standards (e.g., ISO27001 & Cyber Essentials). *Developing and maintaining the institutional education and awareness programme which aims to promote a culture of good cyber security practice throughout the University.To meet the above requirements, were looking to see candidates with:*Demonstrable experience of working in a Cyber Security focussed role*Good working knowledge of ISO27001*Demonstrable experience of working in IT in a similarly large and complex environment*A good working knowledge of network protocols and internet technologies. *A broad understanding of computer platforms e.g. Windows, Solaris and Linux. *A broad understanding of cloud platforms e.g. Azure.If youre confident you tick the boxes above and would like to learn more about this fantastic opportunity, please contact Jason Martin on or at .
