Job Description

The CompanyCost Accountant - Growing Organisation - Development Opportunities.Envision AESC are the world’s leading battery technology company and lithium-ion battery manufacturer. This is an exciting opportunity for a Cost Accountant to be part of one of the North East’s highest profile manufacturing plants as we are expanding our operationsat our battery manufacturing plant in Sunderland.Reporting to the site Senior Finance Manager, the Cost Accountant will have responsibility for a range of finance tasks for a rapidly expanding manufacturing business. Main duties will include accounting for inventory and manufacturing costs, as well as analysisand reporting on these costs to functional management within the business. The role will also have responsibility for costing at product level for both current and future production.The RoleThe Cost Accountants duties will include:

  • Month-end and year-end accounting for the manufacturing costs within the P&L (parts, materials, scrap, labour and overheads)
  • Generate monthly performance reports for these cost areas and present to functional management to support budget control and decision making
  • Analysis and reporting of inventory on a monthly basis, highlighting risks and opportunities to optimise cashflow
  • Provide back up to balance sheet on a monthly basis, including inventory and manufacturing cost accruals
  • Preparation of Business Planning and Forecasting information for the plant manufacturing costs
  • Carry out product costing for current and future production
  • Support compliance and control over financial transactions and reporting
  • Work closely with the wider local and group finance teams
The PersonThe requirements for the Cost Accountant role are:
  • CIMA Qualified accountant. Those that are qualified by experience or approaching qualification will be considered
  • Experience of operating in a manufacturing environment is essential
  • Sound understanding of accounting fundamentals, and experience of managing and maintaining financial controls
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to functional managers
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving techniques
  • Experience of using SAP in a manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, and other PC applications.
