Job Description

We are looking for someone who would enjoy creating a range of meals for our elderly residents at Cedar House Care Home in Sunderland, where we provide care and support to up to 31 residents.Job Title: CookHours: 32 hours per week - 7:00am to 4:30pm - on a rolling rota 3 days on 3 days offLocation: Cedar House Care Home, 3-4 The Cedars, Ashbrooke, Sunderland, SR2 7TWPURPOSE OF POSITIONWe are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering delicious home cooked food every day.You will monitor stock levels and order food each week based on the four weekly menu cycle. You will follow food hygiene requirements and recording in line with food hygiene regulations.You will be responsible for ensuring the kitchen and all kitchen equipment is kept clean and hygienic at all times following a comprehensive cleaning schedule.Work with the other cook and care staff to ensure the menu provides all Clients with a variety of choices making allowances for personal preferences and allergies as necessary.SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • A passion for preparing delicious home cooked food
  • Experience of catering for up to 30 people
  • Ability to work well with colleagues to provide a relaxed family dining experience for residents
  • Willingness to participate in all areas of kitchen activities including cooking, cleaning and ordering
  • Level 2 in Food Safety/hygiene or willingness to complete the certificate
  • Satisfactory DBS police check and two references
