Summary The Childrens Country House at Sudbury sees all three components of the property - the Hall, Museum and Gardens - coming together under one core proposition. We have considered every aspect and asked, how can we make this a place where every child feelscomfortable, welcome and can lead their own visitAs our Volunteering & Community Assistant youll support the delivery of our volunteering and community plan including recruitment and supporting our team of volunteers to deliver an inclusive, child focussed offer for our visitors.This role is required to work with vulnerable groups including children and any offer of employment or volunteering is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check. What its like to work here To ensure we stay true to our ambition, The Childrens Country House is being created with, for and by children, underpinned by a range of expertise and research. We recruited a group of over 100 child ambassadors who have helpedus along this journey to creating The Childrens Country House. We want to engage children with our collections, with stories and with history by providing a fun, heritage day out where children can use their natural curiosity to safely explore the propertywithout barriers. Youll work in our Volunteering & Community Team and report into our Senior Volunteering and Community Officer. Youll also work closely with our team of around seventy volunteers who are in a variety of roles spread across the property team.Click here for more information about this location What youll be doing Youll support the delivery of our volunteering and community plan by supporting our teams, volunteers, partners and local communities.Youll support the daily organisation of volunteering, providing administration and other support.Working with volunteersat each stage of the volunteer journey youll help ensure they feel engaged and involved in the work of the property. Proactively listening and responding to volunteers, communities, and partners.This will include supporting effective recruitment, selection, and induction of new volunteers to ensure that there is a one team culture which is inclusive and ensures volunteering is open to everyone.
