Job Description

Import Admin AssistantAn opportunity for an Import Admin Assistant has arisen for a start-up company, working within a small team based in Strood. We are a new business set up specifically to manage the new customs clearance processes for European road Freight importing perishables post Brexit (January 1st). This role will be an excellent opportunity for someone with existing admin experience who wants to join a successful and growing company.Role responsibilities of the Import Admin Assistantinclude:

  • To prepare customs entries and report to relevant authorities.
  • Expediting and liaising with contacts to resolve any issues with HMRC.
  • Communicating clearly with relevant UK Government authorities.
  • Tracking shipments and updating relevant customers on progress.
  • Certificate submissions for relevant governing bodies, ensuring timely retrieval for audits.
  • Daily submission of time sensitive information to HMRC for arrivals.
  • Collation of specification and values of goods to HMRC.
  • Being point of contact for customer queries and status updates.
  • Invoicing customers for services.
  • Keeping various trackers up to date.
  • Essential skills of the Import Admin Assistant:
  • Previous admin experience is desirable, but not essential.
  • Computer literate with good knowledge of Microsoft software.
  • Organised with great attention to detail is essential.
  • Confidence when speaking on the phone.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and able to prioritise their own workload.
  • Flexible to cover weekends if required, however this would only be on an on-call basis.
