Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Science teacher to work from after Easter until Summer temporarily with a view to becoming a permanent member of staff.If you have a passion for science and a gift for inspiring young minds, we are looking for you. We are currently recruiting for a new science teacher to join a small but popular SEMH school in South Manchester. You must have a solid understanding of the national curriculum standards and have experience closing the achievement gap as well as being able to teach and motivate children with additional needs. Your job will be to develop engaging and innovative lessons that allow all students to grow academically, socially and emotionally. You are someone who incorporates technology and hands-on learning experiences into the classroom with enthusiasm.Job Responsibilities

  • Create daily lesson plans and learning activities for students.
  • Deliver high-quality, engaging instruction in the form of discussion, direct teaching, demonstrations and independent practice using a variety of proven methods.
  • Differentiate lessons when needed to give all students access to the curriculum regardless of ability or additional need.
  • Evaluate student performance on tasks established by the standards using different methods such as observation, performance-based tasks or other standard test practices.
  • Maintain a safe, orderly and supportive classroom by modelling expected behaviour and standards, promoting positive interactions and quickly addressing behaviours that are not in line with the school policies.
    • Job Skills & Qualifications required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science education or another related field
  • QTS/QTLS and experience teaching UK curriculum KS3 & 4.
  • Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing as well as proven classroom management strategies.
  • Experience working with SEMH, SEBD , ASC, ADHD would be desirable but not essential.
