A management role assisting the Head of Care - Registered Manager.The main purpose of the job is to assist senior management to deliver services within residential settings for adults who have learning disabilities and complex health needs. The Service Manager will work to fulfill the charitys responsibility to meet thephysical, emotional and intellectual needs of service users who have profound and multiple learning disabilities and complex health needs.Service Managers work a system of duty, which includes evenings and weekends in line with the needs of the Service and Service User demand.This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure by the Disclosure and Barring Service and satisfactory references.Qualifications and trainingCandidates must have a level 5 QCF in care or equivalent/higher or be willing to work towards this award.ExperienceExperience of working as a manager within the care sector; working with children and/or adults with physical and learning disabilities is desirable but not essential.Experience providing personal care and support and the administration of medication.Experience of managing staff and taking responsibility for performance/standards of service delivery.Experience of assessing the needs of vulnerable people and developing effective risk management plans and support plans.Experience of using IT equipment and software packages to develop staff rosters, support plans, risk assessments and reports.Full driving license and use of car is essential to this role.Details of the PostOur Service Users have a variety of needs for which they will require varying levels of support. The Service Manager will be required to complete person centred assessments of need in line with promoting independence, empowering individuals and effectiverisks management.Services are provided to vulnerable adults over a 24-hour period within a residential setting. The Service Manager will work within a dedicated service area but will also be required to support the development of the service as a whole. Employees shouldnote that they may be required to change their work-place base and work in other appropriate departments across the Stockdales service in line with service need and personal development.It is an expectation that the post holder will successfully complete the charitys induction and management training programme and be proactive in relevant training within the required timescales set by the charity. The post holder will be required to participatein care planning, risk assessments, report writing and chairing meetings. They will demonstrate effective team working skills and liaise with service users, their families, other agencies/professionals, to ensure each service user is supported to maximisetheir independence and achieve their goals.
