Job Description

Remedy Recruitment Group are currently seeking an experienced Educational Psychologist to work within Stoke-on-Trent City Council.Job Purpose

  • To respond to all requests for help from schools, support agencies, parents and children subject to informed and confirmed parental consent and City policies.
  • To visit schools and other providers of care & education for children regularly with a view to establishing their development needs and casework referrals and priorities that may have arisen from a variety of sources.
  • To inform the Lead Psychologist of issues of concern associated with delivery to the above noted providers.
  • To negotiate with the Lead Psychologist requests for additional support to providers of education and care for children
  • To assist providers of education & care for children, parents and others in collecting data prior to SA+ of the Code of Practice for SEN involvement and where appropriate offering advice at earlier stages about how needs might be met.
  • To provide parents/carers with the opportunity to meet with the educational/child psychologist in order to seek their views and advise parents/carers on strategies for support and of the assessment process.
  • To carry out psychological assessments of children with a view to planning and implementing programmes of intervention in partnership with: teachers, parents/carers, the child and/or others.
