Job Description

Job Role: Toolmaker Technician Location: Stockton-On-TeesDuration: Permanent Shifts: Working a 3 shift rotation - Monday - FridayThe RoleWe are currently seeking a dedicated Toolmaker Technician. Our client is leading automotive company, who are committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality in our production processes. If you are enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and eager to contributeto the success of our Tooling & Manufacturing departments, we invite you to apply for this exciting opportunity.Key Responsibilities:In this role, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing department by providing top-notch TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) Tooling Services. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Mould Tool Maintenance: Conducting TPM of existing mould tools to ensure their optimal performance.
  • Tool Management: Managing the location and movements of tools between the production and tooling departments.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Performing TPM cleaning maintenance on production mould tools to uphold the highest standards of quality.
  • Refurbishment and Repair: Assisting Toolmakers in the minor refurbishment and repair of mould tools using bench work techniques.
  • Safety and Improvement: Supporting safety checks and participating in continuous improvement activities as needed.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Carrying out TPM preventative maintenance as per the schedule and documented procedures.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Identifying repairs to prevent re-occurrence and enhance tool robustness.
  • Documentation: Logging and maintaining mould tool work records and completing necessary Tool room documentation.
  • 5S Standards: Assisting in the improvement and maintenance of 5S standards within the tooling department.
  • Tooling Expertise: Performing TPM on tooling, with the level of tooling depending on your experience.
  • New Tool Prep: Preparing new tooling, including de-crating and cleaning off mould protector.
  • Quality Assurance: Completing quality-related documentation and conducting daily yellow card analysis to enhance reliability.
  • Standard Operating Procedures: Documenting standard operating procedures to maintain consistency.
  • Team Support: Assisting with any other relevant duties as required by the business to ensure the departments succes
Qualifications and Skills:While similar experience in these duties is beneficial, it is not essential, as we provide comprehensive training. We are looking for candidates who are:
  • Detail-Oriented: With a keen eye for detail to maintain the quality of our tools.
  • Enthusiastic: About contributing to the success of our manufacturing departments
