Job Description

H9 Technical are hiring an ambitious and forward-thinking Construction Project Manager to join an established and growing Clean Energy Technology supplier in the UK. this will be to be based on a project in Teesside, Northeast England.You will be responsible for leading and managing the Construction of this unique project, under the supervision of the Projects Director. Your role will be a mix between work from home, work from the Teesside site and regular visits to the EPCM.This role will therefore be mostly suited to someone who is based in the North of England, or willing to regularly travel, and would enjoy a blend of both remote, office and on-site work.Key Responsibilities:

  • Assesses and defines construction aspects of the project execution plan in collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders and the project delivery team
  • Manages and motivates their element of the project team identifying risks and opportunities to continually develop our people, project performance and succession plans at either project, programme level
  • Manages and motivates their element of the project team by listening and understanding the challenges each party faces and establishing support and alternative solutions to overcome potential issues
  • Monitors project performance on key areas and suggest corrective action where necessary (safety management, risk assessment, risk management, construction management) utilising digital technology where applicable.
  • The Construction Project Manager should actively manage and hold day to day responsibilities for project delivery and be experienced in all aspects of construction management.
  • Construction budget assessment (where applicable)
  • Construction plan preparation
  • Construction plan development
  • Supporting the procurement of Construction services
  • Monitoring the delivery of construction services against budget and plan
  • Reviewing procedures and method statements.
  • Reviewing site inductions procedures and ensuring induction records are securely stored.
  • Creating a schedule of meetings and ensuring key stakeholder attendance at site meetings.
  • Planning and integration of key contractors to meet the needs of the planned programme and coordination of key stakeholders.
  • Managing the variation control and early communication of foreseeable change.
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of the commercial processes in operation.
  • Keeping a record of key performance indicator (KPI) production.
  • Ensuring method statements, risk assessments and works plans are produced.
  • Plan and develop the project strategies
  • Create and Lead Your Team / contractors construction teams
  • Monitor Project Progress and Set Deadlines
  • Solve Issues That Arise
  • Ensure Stakeholder Satisfaction
  • Evaluate Project Performance
  • Develop the project delivery documentation to be included within all contractors tender packages. Setting the expectations from the beginning
  • Develop best practice solutions together with the project team
  • Review and make recommendations on technology and processes to streamline the construction on site and within the supply chain with no impact on the live operational areas.
Technical Skills Required
  • Degree Qualification is preferred, but not essential
  • Professional Memberships are an advantage, but not essential
  • Extensive experience in managing on site, refinery construction projects and/or other mega Civil infrastructure projects.
  • Live Operational environment experience an advantage, but not essential
  • APM/PMI Qualification is preferred but not essential.
