Job Description

You the Wholesale Merchandiser will be to implement and maintain critical paths and work with suppliers and customers, in tandem, understanding the pressure of delivery in todays supply chain market.Client DetailsA leading British lifestyle brand in the Cheadle area of Stockport. The business sells is own brands and white label goods on Ecommerce channels and into premium retail store such as John Lewis & Neals Yard. Due to strong trade the business is looking for a Wholesale Merchandiser to join the business.Description

  • Ensuring all delivery schedules are met and following up with after-sales information to customers. Printing and preparing delivery labels, barcodes and customer delivery data as required using various software and systems. Assess and complete all customer related forms and applications.
  • Prepare purchase orders for management approval and submission to suppliers
  • Managing the critical path ensuring all orders are arriving on time
  • Validate Supplier Invoices and co-ordinate both Cloud based and paper record-keeping of all purchase transactions from start to completion.
  • Maintain a central register of all Shipments and Purchase Orders and update on a regular basis.
  • Maintain up to date and accurate central registers of product specifications, prices, bar-codes, HS codes and duty rates
  • Perform regular analysis, reconciliations, problem solving and progress chasing of all shipments and invoices;
  • Timely liaison with internal teams, suppliers and customers and build key working relationships, both internally and externally across all levels
  • Manage the sample development process to approval with our suppliers and co-ordinating with customers
  • Negotiating costs with freight forwarders
  • Ensure import shipments, primarily from Asia, are scheduled on a timely basis from the supplier and booked with freight forwarders with all the necessary paperwork in place
  • Administer all import and export shipments via email, telephone and Cloud based systems, working towards strict timetables
  • Ensure documentation for export shipments is prepared promptly and accurately for Air and Sea Freight movements to our warehousing and our customers premises
  • Liaise with Company Management through meetings and reports on all active orders, shipments, invoices and payments due.
  • Timely liaison with internal teams, suppliers and customers and build key working relationships, both internally and externally across all levels
  • Facilitate and maintain successful relationships with Suppliers, Customers, Freight Forwarders and Carrier
  • Profile
  • A minimum of 3 years in a similar role
  • This role would suit someone who has experience of working with factories in the Far East.
  • Worked with defined processes and procedures and has demonstrable ability to recommend continuous improvements and new ways of working.

  • Quick Learner. Grasp concepts and have good follow through skills; adhering to work schedules and capable of overcoming challenges as they arise
  • Time management and organisational skills are a key requisite for this role.
