We currently recruiting for a Supply Chain Officer to join our a rapidly developing engineering and manufacturing team based in Stockport. Reporting to the Sr Project Manager, the successful candidate will work closely with our manufacturing, development and finance teams and build strong working relationships with suppliers.This position will involve procurement of direct and indirect material, cost reduction on purchases, scheduling, inventory control, and inbound/ outbound logistics co-ordination.Supply Chain Officer Responsibilities:- Responsibility for ordering of all stock and consumables, ensuring satisfactory stock levels and forward planning with suppliers.- Supplier contract negotiation and performance monitoring of OTD, quality, costs and payment terms.- Building strong relationships and communicating effectively with internal stakeholders and suppliers to understand and resolve delivery issues or problems.- Pro-actively identity and implement opportunities to achieve cost savings.- Resolve problems that are negatively impacting production, quality and delivery of shipments.- Manage and monitor order book and lead times closely and provide reports to management when required.- Control and reconcile the physical movement of stock on a monthly basis, avoiding stock overflow and stockouts.- Manage inbound and outbound logistics, initiate programs to monitor logistics costs. Supply Chain Officer Requirements:- Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.- 3 years’ experience in electronic component procurement.- Stock control and inventory management experience.- Understanding of the strategic role of procurement and ability to work at this level.- Strong communication and negotiation skills.- Ability to prioritise tasks and have effective time management and analytical skills.- Full UK driving license.Desirable:- Strategic procurement knowledge of electronics and metal work commodity.- Previous experience of having worked within a small to medium business.- Inbound and outbound logistics experience.- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma.- CPIM /CSCP certification or equivalent.About IPEC:IPEC are experts in On-line Partial Discharge (PD) testing of MV and HV plants.
