Job Description

Stockport are seeking a dedicated and passionate Social Worker to join our Child Protection Team in Stockport. As a vital member of our team, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the welfare of children and ensuring their well-being within our community.Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assessment and Investigation:
    • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify and evaluate child protection concerns.
    • Investigate and analyze reports of child abuse, neglect, or maltreatment in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  2. Case Management:
    • Develop and implement effective care plans that address the unique needs of each child and family.
    • Provide ongoing case management, monitoring progress, and adjusting interventions as necessary.
  3. Crisis Intervention:
    • Respond promptly and effectively to crisis situations involving children, providing emotional support and coordinating necessary interventions.
    • Collaborate with law enforcement, medical professionals, and other agencies in urgent situations.
  4. Collaboration and Networking:
    • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists, educators, and healthcare professionals.
    • Establish and maintain effective partnerships with community resources to enhance support options.
  5. Advocacy and Legal Support:
    • Advocate for the rights and best interests of children within legal proceedings.
    • Collaborate with legal professionals and attend court hearings as required.
  6. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with organizational standards.
    • Prepare detailed reports for internal reviews, court hearings, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Social Work or a related field.
