Job Description

Job Title: Senior Finance Business Partner - Commercial FinancePay Bracket: Circa £50k + 10% bonusBenefits: 25 days holiday + banks and hybrid working plus more great benefitsLocation: Stockport HQ - Hybrid working is available - Candidates from outside of the area must have access to the office a minimum of once every 2 weeks as well as once monthly for management meetingsEstablished and well known South Manchester based business are looking for an experienced Senior Finance Business Partner to join their busy Commercial finance team on an permanent basis.This role will partner with senior managers and leaders within a specific commercial division and support functions to provide robust financial support and guidance in short and long term decision making.The role will lead the management and control of budgets up to £50m, with accountability for management and financial accounts produced by the business and within divisional finance teams. In addition, the role will track and forecast expenditure and projectsas well as proactively seek out insight and build relationships with key personnel to facilitate and influence decision-making - driving the business to achieve its financial targets and objectives while maintaining an adequate level of internal control.Principal Accountabilities

  • This role will primarily cover Technology and other central functions, necessitating communication and stakeholder management across the whole business
  • Support the leadership teams in analysing and reporting the financial performance of the functions and in evaluating any new plans, initiatives and contract changes to ensure that all major decisions are taken with sufficient understanding of their financialconsequences
  • To drive planning, budgeting and forecasting processes and outcomes
  • To push down the budget to individual directors/managers for their area of responsibility
  • To proactively challenge and support both the leadership teams to improve performance and manage risks and opportunities as they arise
  • To develop, maintain and present periodic reporting (eg. management accounts, dashboards and project finance trackers) and communicate actual expenditure versus budget/forecast to the central teams, operating company management teams and the senior leadershipof the business
  • Financial control and reporting of capital spend
  • To ensure all costs are properly accounted for, attributed to the correct entities / business units, and are in compliance with company polices
  • To support wider business reporting, commercial analysis, business cases and projects as required
  • To be a key visible point of contact across the functions for all finance-related issues
  • Provide key analysis for senior management to promote transparency and control
Person Requirements - Qualifications, Experience & Competencies
  • Experience as a Finance Business Partner, ideally from a large multi-operation environment
  • Qualified / Part Qualified Accountant
  • Self-starter with proven communication skills and confidence to effectively deliver clear messages across different levels of a large business
  • Ability to exercise independent professional judgement within an overall business context
  • Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves, find solutions and work well with tight deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • In-depth understanding of Microsoft Excel and proven ability to build and develop complex models
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of Oracle, SQL and Tableau an advantage
  • Experience in a reporting/budgeting role within a commercial organisation, and the subsequent monitoring of actual versus plan, would be an advantage, as would experience in business partnering with IT and other central business functions.
The successful candidate will have worked in a larger complex environment with demonstrable experience business partnering with key senior stakeholders within the business.
