CK Science are recruiting for an R&D Chemist to join an ink manufacturing company at their site based in Stockport on a permanent basis. This role is offering a salary of £25,000- £35,000 DOEThe Company:Our client is a leading manufacturer and distributor of screen printing, flexo and digital inks and supplies, a leading provider of consulting services to printers, colour separations and colour management services, and a leading manufacturer of durable industrialgraphic and functional printing products.R&D Chemist Role:Your main duties will be to: Lead formulation and research activities in several projects. Develop technical plans in formulation area and assist experimentalist in their delivery. Lead IJ research activities in areas concerning colorant and polymer formulation, jetting, colour matching, ink physical properties (viscosity, surface tension, dynamic ST, etc) for ink-jet inks. Work to rapid deadlines with shifting priorities whilst producing high quality, accurate and reliable data. Maintain sufficient records of work. Use specialised scientific software and excel. Lead process improvement projects. Continue to raise personal capabilities and develop an awareness of other ink technologies. Interact with and possibly develop, train and supervise others within the department/ line reports to maximise their effectiveness and improve the technical knowledge base within the R&D group. Interact with Tech Services, QC, Production, Marketing & other R&D teams as is necessary to provide information, data and samples to the customer. Ensure that safe working practices are observed both personally and by others. Your Background:The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:- The Job holder must have a PhD/ EngD, MSc or BSc in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Colour Science, Dispersion Science, Polymer Chemistry, Formulation Science or similar - Ideally, 5 years relevant experience. - Good/ excellent IT skills.
