Empowering Learning are currently recruiting for a English Lecturer to lecture GCSE English for a Stockport based college.Hours of this English Lecturer role- Full time (35 hours per week, 24 hours teaching)Contract - Fixed term until February 2023Salary - £29,658 - £40,146The College Group has an opportunity for an experienced teacher of GCSE English Language to join the English and Maths team to help us achieve our vision of unlocking potential and fostering success.GCSE English is at the core of Study Programmes for 16-18 learners across the Group, providing learners who are yet to achieve a Grade 4 with the opportunity to improve their English skills and GCSE Grade in order to progress in their education and employment.Adult Part-Time GCSE provision similarly provides an essential opportunity for learners aged 19+ to achieve this key qualification for professional and personal development.The English Lecturer Role:Working as part of our highly experienced GCSE English team, the successful English Lecturer will benefit from and contribute to our ongoing commitment to delivering excellence in all aspects of teaching, learning and assessment in your specialist subject.Engaging learners in English and helping them to overcome barriers which they may have faced in the past is at the heart of what we do at TCG, making English relevant, practical and enjoyable with a commitment to securing positive outcomes for all those weteach.About you in this English Lecturer role:If you are passionate about your specialist subject and sharing your knowledge, skills and experience and have an enthusiasm for supporting young people and adults in this field then there has never been a better time to join the College Group.Candidates with recent experience of teaching post-16 GCSE or Secondary GCSE English would be ideally suited to this role. An English degree is not essential, however clear evidence of English subject specialism in related disciplines would be required.This role would be suitable for both Newly Qualified Teachers or experienced practitioners.The role offers the potential for a longer term / permanent role within the Department should future opportunities arise for staffing requirements in this core subject across the wider Group. Ongoing Internal and External CPD opportunities will form an importantpart of this role, including subject specific CPD.About the college:The college has recently entered the next exciting phase of its journey through the merger with a leading 6th Form College.
