Job Description

An exciting opportunity for an Administrator has become available within a respectable and well trusted Engineering company based in the heart of Stockport Town Centre. The role requires someone with strong Excel ability who can easily manipulate and sort data and keep a track of projected hours worked by contractors to ensure they do not go over the allowed legal amount. Excellent communication skills, along with a tough skin, will be needed as the role will entail liaising with project managers daily. If you are keen to work in a fast-paced work environment and understand the importance of providing efficient support to a high standard, then this is the role for you. The salary offered is up to GBP22,000, dependent upon experience. About the Role: · To act as a point of contact for project managers wanting to book / schedule contractors for works needed to be carried out · Dealing with reporting absence from working, booking annual leave and the allocation of overtime · To ensure that all contractors and staff have the correct projected hours allocated to them in line with service policy and that they would not go over the legal requirement · The timely provision of analytical and statistical information, using Excel · Providing administrative support to managers · Processing timesheets, entering spreadsheets and analysing anything over the allocated hours · Scheduling the workers into Excel and forecasting the expected hours · Making inbound and outbound calls and chasing PMs for 2 weekly forecast of labour · Handling calls with patience and dealing with problems / issues as and when they may arise · General office duties Essential Skills & Experience · Excellent communication skills and a tough skin are essential to liaise well with project managers · Strong data entry ability with a high level of accuracy · IT skills across MS Office is essential, and a strong command of Excel is required · Previous experience working within an engineering business would be advantageous, along with knowledge of rail, however this is not essential as full training will be provided · Could suit someone from construction or manufacturing · Must have excellent administrative skills · Previous experience dealing with timesheets or forecasting hours worked by contractors etc and understanding of restrictions around this · Ability to work well within a small team and thrive within a fast-paced environment About the Benefits · Salary of up to GBP22,000, dependent upon experience · Hours of Work are 40 hours per week, working between 8am and 5pm, with 30 mins for lunch.
