Job Description

JOB ROLE: ACCOUNT HANDLERLOCATION: STOCKPORT, WITH HYBRID-WORKING (2 DAYS IN OFFICE, 3 FROM HOME)SALARY: £26,000-£30,000 PLUS BENEFITSAre you an Account Handler with commercial insurance experience, seeking a new opportunity in the Stockport areaTHE OPPORTUNITY: A fantastic new opportunity has come to market for an Account Handler to work for a well-established independent insurance brokerage.As Account Handler, you will be responsible for handling a book of commercial business to include insurance products such as commercial combined, tradesmen, shops and property owners.This will suit an Account Handler with some commercial experience at the beginning of your insurance career, seeking the opportunity to progress and further develop within a leading broker.Our client operates a hybrid-working policy with a split between working from home (up to 3 days a week) and their office.THE ROLE:Key responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Servicing a book of commercial insurance business.
  • Handling renewals and mid-term adjustments.
  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with customers.
  • Negotiating and agreeing terms and cover, ensuring the best possible deal is secured for clients.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Proven experience working in an Account Handling role, with some knowledge of commercial insurance policies.
  • A keen interest and desire to progress a career in the insurance sector.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability and confidence to manage and maintain solid professional working relationships.
  • Effective negotiation skills are required to get the best deal possible for clients.
  • Acturis experience, although not essential, is advantageous.
