Job Description

Morgan Hunt are currently recruiting for a Senior Web Developer on a permanent basis on behalf of our public-sector client based in Stirling.Salary: £45k - £54kAnnual Leave: 40 DaysPension Contribution: 21% From EmployerWorking Model: Hybrid; 2 Days on-site; 35 Hours per WeekWe are looking to appoint a Senior Web Developer to maintain the organisations website; planning and implementing new technological developments and innovations; and enhancing the user experience, quality, and integrity of the site. They will be a senior memberof the digital marketing team and lead a team of web developers, responsible for ensuring that the website is responsive, accessible, and provides an exceptional user experience. They will also be involved in the broader technical and content initiatives outwiththe website, which are aligned with the organisations strategic objectives.Duties Include:Research and Planning

  • Lead on the development and implementation of the organisations web development roadmap
  • Own the planning, organisation, and implementation of web development projects.
  • Proactively scan the technological and competitive landscape and use this to inform the development strategy and share insights with wider teams.
  • Review website performance, bringing forward solutions to enhance effectiveness.
Team Management:
  • Line manage, support, and motivate a small team of web developers ensuring they achieve as a high-performing unit.
  • Lead and establish priorities for the team in line with organisational goals and Directorate KPIs.
  • Contribute to the daily workload of the team such as building, developing, and maintaining the website, supporting testing, technical requests, bug fixes, and coordinating system upgrades.
Other:
  • Manage and procure web and technical services provided by third parties and agencies and contribute towards commissioning of new external services as required.
  • Act as product owner for the website Content Management System (CMS) and search platform, including management of supplier relationships and co-ordination of support.
  • Create and maintain internal technical documentation for the CMS, search and other website integrations and processes.
Experience & Skills:
  • Experience in leading, motivating, and managing teams.
  • Demonstrable experience in project management.
  • Extensive knowledge of front-end development including progressive-enhancement, responsive web design, content-first design, personalisation, and website performance.
  • Significant experience of successfully developing and supporting websites for a wide variety of audiences, with particular attention to user experience, accessibility, and performance.
  • Understand UX concerns with knowledge of user experience and user interaction design strategies with ability to design and commission UX work from colleagues or external agencies.
  • Ability to translate technical requirements and specifications into easily understood business concepts and vice versa, to engage and influence as required.
  • Previous experience with enterprise Web Content Management Systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, data feeds and APIs.
  • Practical experience of code management and versioning techniques such as Git.
