Job Description

OverviewR&D Scientist (Lateral Flow) If you are a talented Scientist who has experience in the development of Rapid Immunoassay tests then this is the ideal role you have waiting for!

Role responsibilities
  • Conduct project work in the development of diagnostic tests as requested by Management. This will involve planning and executing research and producing project reports when required.
  • Conduct routine equipment maintenance such as daily and monthly maintenance of specific instruments, recording laboratory fridge and freezer temperatures as well as general laboratory tidiness in accordance with GLP.
  • Regularly investigate the scientific literature for new information and novel ideas relevant to the development and production of diagnostic assays.
  • Keeping up to date with all paperwork relating to product development including, but not limited to, production of SOPs and BMRs in relation product development.
  • Liaise and support with the Operations Department to ensure that sufficient stock of raw materials for developed products are made available in good time so that new product launch times are not adversely affected. Implementation of Unleashed Stock Controlprogramme and stock management utilising ISO procedures.
Person specification
  • Degree educated and have the relevant experience in the development of in vitro diagnostic tests, in particular, but not limited to, Rapid Immunoassay tests such as Lateral Flow Assays.
  • Possess initiative and creativeness to suggest changes when and where required for the benefit of the Company and to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Have an eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and complete them as efficiently as possible.
  • Experienced in using Microsoft and other appropriate software packages.
  • Have excellent communication skills and be culturally aware of clients/suppliers from different countries, traditions and religions.
  • Have experience in administration to complete all relevant paperwork accurately and on time.
