It offers a broad range of services, including help with family issues, maintaining work/life balance and mental health support. Context for Role:The M&G plc Risk and Compliance function:
  • Assists the Board to formulate, implement and monitor adherence to the Risk Appetite and Limit framework, risk management plans, risk policies, risk reporting and risk identification processes. Provides guidance, tools and technology and reviews and assessesthe risk taking activities of, the first line of defence, where appropriate challenging the actions being taken to manage and control risks; and, provides the Board with an aggregate view of M&G plcs risk profile and supports them in identifying and assessingkey and emerging risks which threaten the achievement of M&G plcs objectives.The Enterprise Risk Management function operates across the insurance and asset management businesses, and M&G plc Group. It maintains the overall Risk Management Framework and isresponsible for a range of enterprise-wide risk management processes, reporting into Board, Board Committees, Executive Committees and sub-committees thereof.
  • The Senior Risk Analyst (Qualified Actuary) works under the supervision of a Risk Specialist in close partnership with stakeholders across the business. This role will focus on Solvency II enterprise risk management processes, including enterprise widestress and scenario testing framework and coordination.
Key Work Level Accountabilities:Experienced Colleague:
  • Accountable for providing a quality service or product to customers and stakeholders, using skills/experience built through significant practical experience or training
  • For team leaders, accountable for ensuring the team the role supports is delivering a quality service or product
  • Works within established frameworks and procedures, with the freedom to interpret them to solve a range of problems
  • Delivers outputs that are clearly defined, using discretion over how to achieve them
  • Makes suggestions for improvements to the work of the team, based on previous experience and knowledge of similar situations
Key Responsibilities:
  • To work collaboratively with colleagues and take personal accountability to support enhancement of the overall control environment, customers outcomes and a reduction in M&G plcs operational risk.
  • To support the development and maintenance of the Risk Management Framework, including risk policies and standards, and advise on the attestation against policy requirements in line with the Group Governance Framework.
  • To support the bottom-up, top-down and emerging risk processes.
  • To advise on and support the implementation of Solvency II Pillar 2 processes for which the team is responsible.
  • To operate the process for producing reports for which the team is responsible.
  • To support the coordination and production of regulatory disclosures, including ORSA, Solvency and Financial Condition Reports and Regular Supervisory Reports.
  • To support enterprise wide stress and scenario testing framework and coordination.
  • To advise Finance on content relating to risks and uncertainties in the annual report and accounts of the Companys legal entities.
Knowledge & Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of the features of a solvency II balance sheet and the impact of stresses
  • Knowledge of the types of stresses, financial and non-financial, that can impact insurers and asset managers.
  • Working knowledge of Industry best practices and good network/links with individuals and external bodies desirable.
  • Working knowledge of financial services regulatory and legislatory frameworks, including Solvency II, desirable.
  • Working knowledge of Life, Pensions and Investment products, markets and competitors essential.
  • Working knowledge of risk methodologies and frameworks desirable.
  • Working knowledge of M&G plc products, systems and distribution methods desirable.
Required Experience:
  • Actuarial or financial risk experience desirable. Some experience in liaising, influencing and negotiating effectively with internal parties and external parties essential.</l
