Our mission is to become the housebuilder of choice in the North by making aspirational homes attainable.We are currently recruiting for a Buying Manager to join our Procurement team based in Stirling, Scotland.To be considered for the role you should have significant experience within Buying / Procurement at a Senior or Managerial level within the house building or construction industry.The RoleAre you a good communicator, organised and do you have strong commercial awareness Do you have an excellent material knowledge Do you want to be a part of a passionate and driven team If yes then look no further, your next career could be withus! As our Buying manager, you will be responsible for overseeing, managing and have full responsibility for the delivery of the regional procurement service.You will also be responsible for:

  • The provision of procurement services for allocated new and existing developments ensuring the effective control and compliance of the order approval process, material/product/plant specification, nominated suppliers, build programmes and budgets.
  • Providing management and operational support to the regional teams.
  • Liaising with the wider development team in order to determine and agree designated site start programmes and timescales and attending meetings as required.
  • Ensuring orders are placed in line with due dates and that daily site requisitions are placed in a timely manner and to agreed SLAs
  • Ensuring that your teams invoice queries are managed and keep to a minimum level
  • Providing key information and status reports.
  • Actively managing the working partnerships with suppliers to ensure relationships are maintained and that all contractual terms are met, and orders are placed in alignment with agreed lead times.
  • Providing regular reviews on the performance of products and suppliers.
  • Line management responsibility for the Regional Buyer.
Who are we looking forWe are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Buying Manager who evidences strong attention to detail and a methodical way of working. Motivation and organisation are key to success within this role.You must also be able to demonstrate excellent relationship management, negotiation and problem-solving skills.To be considered for this role you must also possess;
  • A relevant qualification such as CIPS/MCIPS or broad experience in Buying/Procurement.
  • Broad Finance/Commercial awareness & Technical knowledge.
  • Broad awareness of codes of practice that impact on commercial matters e.g. Building Regulations, NHBC requirements, HSE etc.
  • Knowledge of the COINS ERP system.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive self-starter who is always thinking of the next steps.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Full UK Driving licence.
