Job Description

MFL Teacher - French and Spanish KS3 - KS5ChesterfieldLong Term part-time 0.6 FTE£150 - £230 Per day dependent on PayscaleEmpowering Learning are a market leading education recruitment company. We are working in partnership with a large Secondary school based in Chesterfield who are looking to recruit a Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) on a part time basis 3 days perweek from February 2024. You will be working with students across KS3 and KS4 predominantly however if you have an A-Level specialist field and would be keen to also take on either language at AS/A2 this can be discussed.The school is a larger than average Secondary Academy with a deep-rooted community feel, and is one of the oldest Secondary schools in the county. With a supportive Senior Leadership team, and tight knit departmental support the school are open to welcomingteachers at any stage of their career and are able to support an ECT through some of their induction if necessary.The role

  • The school is looking for someone who is passionate about Modern Foreign Languages and the ability to teach across KS3, KS4 and KS5, to provide the very best opportunity for students across the school.
  • In this exciting role, you will contribute to the strategic directionof your subject development & leadtraining programmes and contribute to the enhancementof Modern Foreign Languages pedagogy and practice across the school.
  • In addition, you will provide expertise in delivering exceptional, engaging, and ambitious lessons which will provide opportunities for colleagues to learn and grow their practice.
  • To provide outstanding teaching for learning which meets the needsofall students.
  • To support the schoolraising standardsofteaching and learning across the department and in monitoring progress towards agreed aims.
  • To provide specialist subject expertise to assist departmental staff, as appropriate.
  • To support and hold to account other staff in the school through teaching and learning programmes.
  • To support the schoolin the implementationofagreed whole school policies and initiatives.
  • To plan and facilitate professional learning workshops as requested.
The successful candidate will
  • Hold a teaching qualification.
  • Hold a degree or equivalent.
  • Have outstanding teaching practice.
  • Have excellent behaviour management.
  • Have experienceoflesson observations and giving robust feedback.
  • Have experienceofimprovement planning.
  • Have experienceofimplementing a rangeofstrategies to raise student achievement, with evidenceofsuccess.
  • Contribution to impact on the qualityoflearning and teaching and curriculum.
  • A proven track recordofexcellent results at KS3/4/5.
  • Have experienceofhigh-quality pupil tracking and feedback practices.
