Job Description

The Role: Warehouse Groupage OperativeOur client are a well-established UK and Global Logistical supply chain business who specialise in international logistics services via road, sea, air and rail. The role will be within the growing Logistics division supporting the fast growing and multiservice Warehouse operations.Overall Purpose of the Role: Ensures the safe and efficient receipt, storage and despatch of warehouse materials, goods and products to fulfil business operations and customer demand. Also to support and operate within the Logistics department to ensuregoods are received, put away, picked and despatched accurately and in full. Groupage experience preferable.Key Responsibilities: General Warehouse duties. Take delivery of goods and supplies accurately and on time. Load and despatch goods accurately and on time. Check for damaged or missing items on arrivals and departing goods. Store goods appropriately and capture locations accordingly. Pick and pack orders for dispatch. Move stock around either by hand, using lifting equipment or a forklift truck Input data regarding vehicle information accurately on live dashboard. Keep accurate stock records. Carry out stock counts as and when required. Keep paperwork up to date and ensure once processed given to relevant personnel. Ensure that all lifting and manoeuvring of product is carried out in accordance with manual handling procedures Operate in a safe manner complying with all health, safety and environmental requirements to ensure own and safety and that of others Handle any hazardous materials in an appropriate manner Keep areas of work clean and tidy to ensure operational efficiency Make recommendations to aid efficiency and add value. Self-Management on time keeping for standard hours and overtime. Work in a safe manner and comply with the Health, Safety and Environmental Policies Applies experience and logic to all tasks. Achievement Focussed. Makes productive contributions within the Logistics team. Team player with a positive effect on the mood and morale.Skills and Attributes: Able to work well as part of a team Groupage experience preferable Ability to work accurately and methodically Balanced and confident Good numeracy and IT skills Good communication skills Ability to plan and organise work Is self aware, resilient, optimistic and open to change Ability to accurately complete paperwork and count stock items An understanding of health and safety requirements Flexible approach to duties and tasks Good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure / cost of poor quality Consistently manages the task in hand. Shows moral courage, openness and honesty and has a collaborative approach when dealing with othersThe Package• £25,000 - £28,000 depending on experience• Monday to Friday 6:00am - 3:00pm - 11:00am - 8:00pm rotating• Onsite parking• Holiday entitlement• Pension scheme
