Job Description

Job LocationLondon, England Job DescriptionProcter & Gamble (P&G) is one of the worlds leading companies in the manufacture of Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) making globally admired brands such as Gillette, Pampers, Fairy and Oral-B. We are looking for an experienced and dedicated a Process SafetyManager to join our team to lead our Technical Safety Program at P&G UKs biggest manufacturing plant in West Thurrock (Fabric and Home Care business)Responsibilities as Technical Safety Program Leader:

  • Lead the overall Technical Safety Program for the site, ensuring the company and legal requirements are met, reporting into the HSE Program Leader.
  • Implementing and maintaining healthy and strong Process Safety systems on site. Evaluate hazards and specify prevention and protection measures for process, utility, chemical and equipment changes. You will be a key member of the site Change Managementboard, giving safety input to projects, initiatives and risk assessments. You will carry out Process Safety studies and audits annually, ensuring all requirements are met with applicable laws, codes and regulations.
  • Inspect, Test and Maintain safety equipment, leading the safety inspection program for your area, updating the inspections as required, and reporting any outages. Participate in risk assessments for your area, updating and reviewing as required in department.Complete and review regularly all High-Risk task, ensuring full assessment and clear mitigation steps are put in place.
  • Lead Training and Communication on Safety i in basic concepts such as fire, explosion, overpressure, vacuum, chemical reactions, and release. You will own the Site Emergency Response Plan and complete regular drills, updates and ensure a healthy program.
Please note this is a day-based, rather than a shift-based role, youll generally work 40 hours per week.What We Offer You:

Job QualificationsWhat we look for:
  • Degree educated, ideally in a Chemical Engineering or Process Safety-related field
  • Demonstrable experience of Process Safety ideally acquired in a manufacturing operation.
  • Very good relationship-building skills and ability to work across different organisational levels.
  • Proven record of performing and reviewing HAZOPs, LOPAs and Process Safety Studies.
  • Previous experience of managing large-scale projects with an ability to manage own time and deal with conflicting priorities.
  • Competent in full Microsoft package with analytical skills, assessing large amounts of data to visual trends and can use Power BI functions.
